I have good news and bad news today. The good news is that I caught Nakedman in my trap. The bad news is that Nakedman is actually just my stoopid little brother, Freddie.
Turns out he’s been taking my offerings for the monster and eating them. I woke up this morning to the sound of snapping sticks. I ran out to my trap to find Freddie climbing out of the hole, twinky in hand. It was covered in sand, but he ate it anyway. Yuck!
It seems that since he got stranded here, Freddie has become more and more animal-like. It took him a while to remember how to talk, and he still sounds like a monkey. Scratch that, a stoopid monkey. For some reason he thought it would be a good idea to ditch his clothes on the beach and run around the island naked all the time.
There are some benefits to having Freddie around, though. He showed me coconut and banana trees that live nearby, and he opened some of my cans of food by hitting them against rocks. Best of all: he knows how to make fire.
It took a lot of convincing, but I eventually got through to him that we should stick together. At the very least, if that monster comes by again, I can use Freddie as an offering.
